About us
Child-care should be available to every child, that’s my vision. Children who are a hand full, children who are quiet, children with a disability, children who are bilingual (or tri-lingual), children with an allergy and all children I didn’t mention before.
My name is Brenda and I am the director/owner of Carpe Diem. I am married and together we have two children, a son who is 25 years old and a daughter who is 21 years old. My son has a disability and when he was little I searched for child-care for him, but I couldn’t find it. That’s the reason I wanted to start my own child-care center, one where all children are welcome. Unfortunately I didn’t have experience in professional child-care and I didn’t have the necessary diploma’s. I did have a friend who worked in child-care and I asked her for advice.
April first 2000 I was ready and I opened Carpe Diem, with a couple of child-care teachers who had the right credentials. This was over 22 years ago and in the mean time I got my credentials (SPW3, PW4, Praktijkopleider, Kinder-EHBO, BHV) and I have taken many courses. To further extend my knowledge I have studied (for three years) at the PABO to learn more about teaching sciences, giving me the chance to integrate my teaching knowledge into our many preschool activities in the best possible way!
In June of 2020 I opened a second day-care center: Carpe Diem in The Hague.
With our teachers and interns we take care of the children and make sure they have the best day possible!
